This is why I love my job.

I’m working with a new attorney client and, like in many of my engagements, we’re working through her student loans.

She had every reason to believe that her loans were on a 10-year plan, but the numbers just weren’t adding up on my end.

The monthly payments seemed too low.

We call her student loan provider and find out that when she consolidated her loans they switched her to a 30-year plan.

Without her permission!

She’s of course shocked by this.

The good news – we’re restructuring her loan strategy and the savings will be over $100,000 to her.

Moral of the story is this: “It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.” – Mark Twain
